Scenic road bike ride in North Georgia. 104, 69, 41 mile routes. Celebrate the start of Italy's Classic Road Bike Race Season by riding the beautiful scenic countryside of North Georgia, reminiscent of Italy! Fully supported! Welcome to North Georgia! The Georgia Apple Blossom Festival brings one exciting weekend to East Ellijay, Georgia with over fifty hand-selected, regional vendors offering food, art, crafts, a business expo and more. Spring is one of the best times of the year to visit the North Georgia Mountains. We not only celebrate the apples in the Fall in Gilmer County, we celebrate the beauty of the blossoms in the Spring.
Whats the best thing about Downtown Ellijay? The food! The Taste of Ellijay has everything culinary that our beloved Gilmer County has to offer. Admission is completely free and samples range anywhere from $1-$4. Local restaurants will be offering their finest flavor. Indepedence Day
Every year on July 4th Downtown Ellijay is the place to be. Come down and enjoy all of our town has to offer; Local restaurants, shops and much more. Every year we have our annual 4th of July parade that starts at 6pm followed by fireworks at dark!! Looking for a great spot? Just find a local and ask! August:
Gilmer County Fair
Every September something special comes to Gilmer County, The Fair! Our family friendly county fair is thanks in part to Peachtree Rides and the Ellijay Lions Club. You can enjoy the rides, the lights, the food and the feel of a cool September night. You can also enjoy live entertainment along with an exhibition featuring Quilts, Crafts, Agriculture, Food, Canning, Baking, Sewing, Needlework, Art, Flowers, Photography and much more. The fair is always located at the Gilmer County Fair Grounds and if you need more information you can contact The Ellijay Lions Club Here or at 706-635-5901.
October:
Scarecrow Invasion
Its October and you know that that means??? Our little mountain town of Ellijay is being took over by SCARECROWS! The workshop starts at the end of September and goes through the first week of October. If you need help building your scarecrow you can see our good friends at Mountain Ridge Garden or you can just take it home and take care of it yourself! All of our Scarecrows go up on October the 1st and stat up through October the 31st. There will be over 300 themed Scarecrows throughout our small town for the month of October. Apple Festival
The biggest event of the year is the Georgia Apple Festival Arts & Crafts Show. In its 45th year the Georgia Apple Festival has grown from humble beginnings to be one of the largest and most well-attended festivals in Georgia. Celebrating fall and the apple harvest, the Apple Festival features handmade, handcrafted arts and crafts, live entertainment, beauty pageant, car show, parade, delicious treats from fried Oreos to gyros, and all things apple. Apple Arts
During the same weekends as the Apple Festival we have Apple Arts in historic downtown Ellijay. A smaller version of the Apple Festival is set up on the square allowing you to enjoy a festival with easy access to local shops and restaurants. Halloween in Downtown Ellijay
Every year on October 31st our small mountain town of Ellijay, GA offers a family friendly and fun way to let your children trick or treat. Our downtown merchants pull together and provide a great experiance for everyone. Veteran’s Day Celebration

Light Up Ellijay
There is nothing more beautiful then a Mountain Christmas, I mean ask Dolly. Each year our beautiful small Mountain Town of Ellijay host a Christmas Themed event with a night time parade with tons of creative floats. How about Santa? He will be there and you will have a great opportunity to visit our downtown merchants and great that list ready for Santa.
